About Us

Anime Focus launched on 30th April 2011 and is a sleek designed news site that brings you all the latest news reviews, information and gossip for all the latest anime, manga and toys to grace the United Kingdom, along with a sprinkling  of exciting and informative articles.

Having started off its existence as a planned update to the Eye on Asia it soon took on an identity of its own with an emphasis more on anime in general rather that just anime merchandise. Anime Focus is part of the ASH Group of companies that currently include Eye on Asia and Avant Garde Figures and will soon also include Anime Ask It and AdultAnime.xxx

In July 2011 Anime Focus took on its first writers who have had a massively positive impact on the site and are responsible for most of the amazing content that you can find on our site today.

We hope to share our passion for anime and all things anime related with you, but to do so we will need you, so don’t be a stranger share your comments with us or contact us if you have any ideas that you would like to see us implement or if you would like to contribute to our site in any way.

Everything we do we do it for you!

Adam Hughes – Editor

As a self-proclaimed workaholic, although some may disagree, he loves to share his hobbies with other people.

As well as being editor of this site he is the Manager at Eye on Asia and Project Manager at Avant Garde Figures plus has a part-time job at the local supermarket.

He enjoys admiring modern popular art and loves Wales but most of all loves anime.

Jon Hudson – Writer/Editor

Having been an anime fan for many years, he is glad to finally be inflicting his passion on others via reviews.

When not voraciously consuming animated and other media, having jacked in the rocket scientist job, he is currently studying a MSc degree in Computer Animation and Visual Effects at Bournemouth University.

He can be found lurking on Twitter as @VectorJon

Martin Siggers – Writer

Martin is Anime Focus’ resident toy and figure reviewer, and consequently spends far too much of his time surrounded by cardboard boxes.

In his spare moments he enjoys reading history, watching really terrible movies and playing fighting games.

He lives just outside London along with a worrying number of model robots.

Julian White - Writer

A prolific reviewer for various magazines and sites, Julian spends his days hunched over a hot laptop among teetering piles of DVDs, books, comics and CDs.

He’s also self-published a long horror novel called The Diviners, and if you bought it and didn’t like it, he’s sorry and he promises not to do it again.

Julian lives in Hampshire, a county he would really like if only it wasn’t so sadly lacking in cosplay conventions.

Alex Jones – Contributor

As a toy obsessive, Alex has been collecting various poseable figures for several years now – walking the thin line between being sensible with money and having more money than sense.

Originally from Cardiff, Wales, he is currently studying for an MA in Magazine Journalism at the University of Sheffield.

He can also be found ranting/raving about tokusatsu, toys and anime at www.my-shiny-toy-robots.blogspot.co.uk
